Frequently asked questions
What is real estate CPD?
Real estate CPD (Continuing Professional Development) is the structured, ongoing training that licensed real estate agents, sales representatives, property managers and licensees-in-charge in Australia must complete each compliance period to keep their licence valid.
How much CPD do real estate agents need in Australia?
Requirements vary by jurisdiction. In Tasmania, the Property Agents Board of Tasmania sets CPD in points against each individual licence condition, due 30 April each year. A typical condition is 8 points (at least 6 industry-specific, with at least 2 delivered by an external provider); heavier conditions require 12 points (8 industry-specific, 4 external). See your state page for the requirement that applies to you.
Is real estate CPD mandatory?
Requirements differ by jurisdiction and licence pathway. Victoria’s regulations commence on 25 November 2026 and its minimum 5 CPD activities apply from 1 April 2027. Confirm your current requirement with the relevant regulator.
How do agencies track real estate CPD?
accre is the purpose-built CPD compliance platform for Australian real estate, with live dashboards per agent and per office, an immutable certificate vault and audit-ready reports.
What happens if I miss real estate CPD requirements?
Penalties vary by state but typically include refusal of licence renewal, fines, and in some cases suspension of the Licensee-in-Charge.
Does accre cover all Australian states and territories?
accre delivers Board-approved CPD in Tasmania. It publishes regulatory references and waitlists for NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, NT and ACT; it does not currently sell CPD delivery in those jurisdictions.
